Humor and patience get you through the day

We are really starting to settle into our routines here, and today, I actually kind of craved kimchi (weird). We feel like we can stick this out, even though there are some interesting circumstances at work at the moment…

With that said, I still have never in my life been so challenged to decide what kind of person I will be. Several times daily I consciously ask myself, “Will this situation/comment/action make me a more compassionate, understanding person, or will I just be impatient and angry?” I won’t even pretend that I always take the high road.

As for humor, we laugh at the little things. And we came upon a little T-shirt thing the other day that we just had to share. Some Americans got together and started this company called Babo Shirts (Babo = stupid in Korean) where they sell T-shirts with slogans that are hilarious to expats in Korea.

For example, one shirt reads “Im a Englishee Teecher.” We actually do hear Englishee a lot.

Another has a picture of a taxi, and it reads “Korean Street Racing because often you feel you just may die on your taxi ride home.

  1. Hey Guys,

You sound like like good Englishee Teechers. Interesting thing about the word babo. Babo is a word in Italian that means the same thing. Maybe a different spelling. Talk to you later. Meanwhile watch out for the cabbies.
