A pirate ship on the Han

Saturday night we went to Yeouido to take a ferry ride on the Han river. We went too far on the bus and ended up walking through Yeouido Park, which apparently has the “Traditional Korean Forest,” a “Grassy Field,” and King Sejong, who was actually quite large.

We walked down to the river, where people were picnicking, riding bikes and roller blading. We bought tickets for the 8:20 ferry from Yeouido to Jamsil at 8:20, so we ran to our ferry only to find ourselves boarding a pirate ship.

Seoul looks nice lit up at night, but there’s not that much to see along the river. So, we sat inside drinking wine and talking like pirates, garrrr…

We got off 45 minutes later at Jamsil and decided the 11,000 won was completely worth the ride.

From the ferry terminal, we had to walk through another park along the river. We asked someone for directions, and all she said was “tunnel.”

And here’s where things just got silly.

We walked through the tunnel (far right, down the stairs) and walked up the stairs because well, there’s a wall. Upon reaching the top of the stairs, we had to, yes, climb down another flight of stairs! Me thinks some soju was involved on this construction day.
